As it’s Saturday and I usually only post photos on a Saturday, I thought I’d get a couple of days of my trip over with in one batch. I’ll put a little bit about each one as the caption for the photos and share some more of my holiday with you.
Next week, we’re going to Saddling, the imaginary village on Romney Marsh based around Fairfield church, which is not imaginary. I know that because I was there. But that’s for Monday. For the weekend, here are some of my personal photos from my trip and I’d just like to say thank you for bearing with me and, I suppose, traveling with me.
But first, we’re still in London, and looking around shops. Box called in to this wedding shop to get directions, there was nothing unusual going on.I remember Carnaby Street from the 1980s. It’s somewhat ‘designer’ now and, I thought, had little atmosphere because of that. This photo, taken in Covent Garden, was just for Neil and anyone else into superheroes, comics and films.Box and Cox feeling their age? Certainly not!Soho by night (the nicer part of the area).Highly recommend Prix Fixe in Dean Street. This was duck in loads of gravy (sorry, blackcurrant and wine reduction with a hint of… and all that). No, didn’t see this excuse to make money, just love the theatre building. Saw the original Jesus Christ Superstar here among many other things.Ah, not quite at the seaside, but near it. I was in Brighton on the Tuesday, spending some lovely time in Kinny’s garden. My mate’s medals include a B.E.M for services to disability and arts, and he’s about to be an awarded an honorary doctorate from Wolverhampton university for the same reason. Not sure about the matches. I should have moved them.
Although it was hot in the UK at the time, I had become chilly in the garden in the evening so an early morning dash to Primark for long trousers and a hoodie was called for. I’ve never queued to get into Primark before, so it was a bit embarrassing, but no-one saw me.
