1658	'Donmow: Collins' [f. 167v.] Q/SO 1/529 1658-	'Upon the Petic[i]on of Henry Donmow of Birdbrooke, setting forth That hee was heretofore on of [th]e Constables of Steeple Bumpsted in this Country & Daniell Collins [was interlined]his partner, that they had a Rate made for their reimbursment and that in the time of the Sicknes of the said Petic[i]oner the said Collins collected almost all the said Rate,and there is due to the said Donmow besides charges the Sum[m]e of Fourty Shillinges, which the said Collins deteyneth from him, And prayeing releife from this Court, It is ordered That the said Collins shall forthwith pay unto the said Hentry Donmow the said Fourty Shillinges for his repaym[en]t out of the said Collect[i]ons, together with his charges necessarily occasioned by the said Detenc[i]on of the said due money;And in case of refusall some Justice of the Peace is hereby desired to send for the said Collinns and bind him over to the next Quarter Session to answeare the same'. 1660	Ramsden Belhouse: Collins' [f. 206r.] Q/SO 1/681 1660-	'Upon a Petic[i]on presented to this Court by one of the Churchwardens and Overseers for the poore of Ramsden Belhouse, showeing that John Collins of that parrish keepeth a Maistiffe Dogg that hath lately bitten severall of the Neighbors and in p[ar]ticuler one [Kennett delected blank] Kennett, Brickmaker, who is thereby unable to gett his liveing, but himselfe, wife and children like to become a charge to that parrish, This Court thereupon Declare & Order That the Inhabitants of the said parrish Doe rate the s[ai]d John Collins towards the releife of the poore of that parrish soe much money as they have beene or shalbe putt unto by reason of the said hurt done to the said Kennett, over and above his former proporc[i]on, For that the said Inhabitants are soe damnified by the negligence and wilfulnes of the said Collins as aforesaid'.
